Blog

Phew! What a scorcher!

Sitting outside writing my blog today. Amazing weather for the time of year in the #South West.

Whilst doing some research on the Interweb last night I stumbled on The Urban Dictionary and it reminded me of the source of the name OFF THE HOOK. It said this:

Off the hook is actually a modernization of a series of slang words. Closely related to off the chain, there refering to something being so “fresh” and “new” that its literally right off the store shelf. (started in reference to clothes, the hangar being the hook)
‘Them shoes are off the hook dog.

Clearly calling a customer a dog isn’t the best sales technique, but I think everyone got my drift when I chose the name, especially my friend’s 12 year old daughter who recognised the term from#Big Brother.

Albuqueque

Saw #Albuqueque’s fiinest Balkan band A Hawk and A Hacksaw @Exeter Phoenix last night and they were so good they deserve a mention here. No real connection with fashion but the accordion player was sporting a fine pair of pointed cowboy boots. Check the band out! www.myspace.com/ahawkandahacksaw

BBC appearance.

Apparently I was on #BBC Spotlight last night talking about the forthcoming elections. I was basking in the Spring sunshine with a pint at #Exeter Quay. As someone who lived in a rural constituency where there was really only one candidate,  I agree with voting for a change in the system. I said that this would probably encourage me to put some crosses in for local council candidates at the same time. This of course has nothing to do with fashion but I was wearing a fabulous pair of Bloc wrap around shades I’d bought at #Taunton Leisure across the street from Off The Hook some weeks earlier.

Welcome to our new Website

Hi and welcome to our fabulous relaunched website. It’s taken many hours of painstaking sourcing and inputting to get it together, and we hope you like it and the brands we’ve chosen. Thanks to Sophie for all her help and Debs and Martyne for looking after the real store while we’ve been away. Also thanks to Yello Studio in Exeter for the design and putting up with us.  Enjoy!!
